The Author
This is the personal blog of David Valcárcel Romeu.
I was born some time ago in Granollers, and my passports state that I am Spanish and Australian; but what has shaped me as I am so far, are the people I met in some incredible places such as Queensland, Catalonia, Spain, Occitania,
Poland and Luxembourg, where I have been living since 2006.
For as far as I can remember, I have always been intrigued by Computer Science, and (almost) everything that goes with it.
The Content
In my short professional career so far, I have been lucky enough to work on very different projects in Spain, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
Whether I worked for a Fortune 500 company, a public institution or a individual; with experienced professionals or not so experienced; on a simple webapp or a complex distributed transactional system; on a small domain, or a large one…none of the projects could escape the inevitable truth:
Building high quality I.T. systems is extremely difficult to achieve and implies a huge amount of effort and passion on a daily basis by everybody involved, from project genesis to production deployment, and from maintenance to the inevitable project mutations.
In the field of computer science engineering, the expression ‘never a dull day’ is truly fulfilled, which makes blogging the perfect communication channel for sharing my experiences and ideas, plus any other random thoughts along the way.
The Technicalities
This blog is powered by WordPress, with qTranslate, Mandigo and Shadowbox JS joining in on the fun, and is currently hosted on ICDSoft.
